LEONORA LEET (1929-2004) received her Ph.D. from Yale University and was a professor of English at St. John’s University who specialized in Renaissance literature, a field in which she published widely. She pursued her study of the Kabbalah and Jewish spirituality under noted kabbalist Aryeh Kaplan and Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and found support for her work in scholars such as Stanley Krippner, Martin Samuel Cohen, Robert Zoller, Santosh Desai, John Anthony West, Joscelyn Godwin, and Robert Lawlor, with whom she studied Pythagorean geometry at Lindisfarne Institute.

Leet’s previous books on the Kabbalah are Renewing the Covenant, The Secret Doctrine of the Kabbalah, and The Kabbalah of the Soul.

For Those Who Have Spiritual Ears To Hear

The Universal Kabbalah by Leonora Leet is definitely for those

who have developed a spiritual capacity to identify the truth

not just from using traditional logic and critical analysis, but

who have an innate intuitive knowing that bypasses conventional wisdom. Leonora Leet in my opinion has managed to breach the gap between mere intellectual knowledge and deeper intuitive udnerstanding. In this her new book, she has taken those who like herself have developed a mystic's grasp of what lies behind all reality to an even more elightened place of Absolute truth. For those readers who do not grasp the fundamental aspects of geometry, her book may be challenging but it is certainly worth the read because it is a pioneering work that I believe will become a classic in years to come.

A mind opening and synapse sparking book. Within the first thirty pages, the little light bulb in my head fired and I started constructing triangular, square and cube sentences. This book clarified a number of concepts that I couldn't apprehend as well as many I didn't comprehend. Delicious brain and soul food.

Quite different than reading the Bahir, Sefer Yetzirah and the like, but really gets you to thinking.

I think "thunderbug" could have at least read the back cover and some of the inside before denouncing it, but considering that this person has negatively reviewed more than one of Leet's books, ya gotta wonder whether the consistently poor reviews aren't an agenda.

About the Author
Ivor Horton is self-employed in consultancy and writes programming tutorials. He worked for IBM for many years and holds a bachelor's degree, with honors, in mathematics. Horton's experience at IBM includes programming in most languages (like assembler and high-level languages on a variety of machines), real-time programming, and designing and implementing real-time closed loop industrial control systems. He has extensive experience teaching programming to engineers and scientists (Fortran, PL/1, APL, etc.). Horton is an expert in mechanical, process, and electronic CAD systems; mechanical CAM systems; and DNC/CNC systems.

I'm using this to get up to date.

My knowledge of C++ is a little patchy in places (it was learned on the job) and certainly not very up to date with the latest C++ 14 standard.
I'm using this book to update it.
It reads a bit like a reference book and a bit like an introduction, but it might not be the best place to start if you are not an experienced programmer because the explanations are somewhat condensed (and that's why I like it, it gets to the point). The author seems to have a good knack at knowing what aspects of the language are less obvious.
If you like a more leisurely, beginner-oriented approach get the book by Prata.
There are lots of books on C++ out there, but few are a up to date with the latest standard as this one. I find the style of writing lively and I dont fall asleep reading it unlike some others I wont mention!

Throughout the theory is illustrated with many worked examples and numerous exercises (some with solutions) are provided.

Not all that simple for US undergrads

Really, I could give this book four stars on some points, like its introducing Lagrangian mechanics at an introductory level. And it isn't a bad book at all -- just that it is NOT for first year undergrads at US universities as it is for Europeans who tend to be ahead of us at this level. It uses vector calculus almost from the start, for example, and its problem sets are difficult compared to most problems in Serway and other standard first-year physics texts. However, as a supplement (if you want to spend $37 for a small book), it will likely give you more of an edge in the long run if you can figure it out.

Steven Errera, former president of Energy Futures, Inc., is noted in his field as a lecturer and writer having contributed articles to many economic and energy-related publications. He is a former vice president of the New York Mercantile Exchange where he was responsible for writing and marketing its No. 2 Heating Oil Futures Contract.

Stewart L. Brown is a chartered financial analyst and professor of finance at Florida State University in Tallahassee. He has published numerous articles in financial and economic journals.

Good on the basics of energy futures trading.

The authors present the basics of futures trading in relation to the energy market. The book does not assume any previous familiarity with the commodities.
Unlike many stock market type books, the authors do not suggest or recommend trading in energy futures. The book presents the mechanics of the market and strategies used by traders.
Specific to the energy market are spreads (heating oil vs gasoline, crack spreads, spark spreads, heating oil vs gas-oil spreads, NYMEX vs IPE spreads and frac spreads). All clearly explained and very interesting. Also, hedging strategies including arbitrage and strip hedging are reviewed.
Options on futures are explained in a generic sense (nothing specific to the energy futures) except for crack spread options trading.
Technical analysis is briefly discussed (11 pages in total). The authors are skeptical of technical analysis - at least in a pure form without other information.
The final chapter deals with the economic implications of energy futures to offset potential losses or lock in profits due to changing oil prices.
The book is a good primer on energy futures, and as there are few books available specifically addressing energy futures, I can recommend it.
However, the book is strictly limited to energy commodities. The energy indexes in the equity market (symbols XOI and XNG) and the SPDR options are beyond the scope of the book. There is also no discussion of online information sources and online commodity brokers. Also, there is little discussion of the rewards and risks involved in futures/ options trading. The bibliography is limited to three books.

Energy Futures Explained

Although this book is focused on energy futures, the authors provide an outstanding overview of the fundamentals of futures trading. However, the value of the book is its explanation of how energy futures are traded. Technical and fundamentals are reviewed with the emphasis of how they are used in the unique setting of the energy industry. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on the history and growth of the energy contract. The chapter on hedging will be of great intest to those in the energy industry.

Very Good Primer

This is an excellent and invaluable learning tool. It is helpful to have some financial experience, namely understanding some of the terms like call and put,etc, so that you may spend more time focusing on the concepts, but not absolutely necessary.
The book is logically organized to start with an overview of the futures market,followed by an overview of futures, generalized hedging, and options. All topics are related to energy commodities with easy to understand explanations. Relevant details relating to the energy market (definitions of spark spreads, inter-exchange hedging strategies, etc) are included.
Although I could not go into the market and trade commodities after reading this book, I could understand the overall concept of hedging energy futures and options and this serves as an excellent primer to the next level.
I would say that this book is at about the college senior level, easy on the math and not heavy on modeling. I would recommend it for the beginning MBA student but not at a PHD level.

Received the Kindle version yesterday and stayed up till 3am finishing it. Explains so much about the FBI investigation and Comey.

I knew the Obama's and Clintons hated each other but not how deep it went. Obama also hates Comey ("worst mistake of his Presidency") and initially wanted FBI to recommend indictment... But he couldn't convince Biden to run. Thus the flip and reluctant phony endorsement for Hillary. Now BO is campaigning for her as if he's running for a third term.

Hillary cusses like a drunken sailor in private and the book reveals the dysfunctional Clinton family and the true nature of Chelsea - Wow. And of course there's Hillary's weird relationship with
Huma...

It's been a long time since I read a book in one day. Seeing what Trump is up against (Trump covered briefly), it will be a miracle if he gets elected. But I still believe in miracles...

No Indictment??????

I started this book yesterday, and finished it this morning. Once you start it, you will find yourself not wanting to put it down.
I wanted not only answers, but what went on behind the scenes as to "WHY" no indictment.
I was one of many who watched James Comey make his case in listing everything his team of investigators found out during the year long investigation of Hillary's home server, and her reckless mishandling of some of our Country's most sensitive Classified info, along with her personal stuff.
When Comey concluded that there would be no indictment, my mouth totally dropped. I wanted to know how could he reach this conclusion??
When you read this book, the author lays out precise interviews of those close to the Clintons, and events as they unfolded.
I was so angry at Comey, and thought he lacked the courage and "other" things (ahem) to appear as to not standing up for the Laws, and caving in to political pressure. By reading this book, you will find out exactly "who" and "why" Comey had to do a total 180 and allow Hillary a pass.
I'm still angry at Comey for not doing the right thing, and standing for the Laws and not Politics! Hillary brought this on herself, and it isn't a right -wing conspiracy, political theater, or waste of taxpayers money, to get to the truth. We need answers, and not have those close to Hillary taking the "5th", Whenever, I hear that, I can't help but think "what are they hiding?"
Anyone who doesn't agree, needs to see how dangerous it is for America to go down this road. It shouldn't matter if you are a Democrat,
NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW!!!!!

Wedding planner meets surfing teacher...

I received a copy of this novel in exchange for a honest review.

Since the death of Conor's mam, he wondered around searching for answers as to what to do with his life. He'd always loved surfing, like his mam, so he took over a surf shop where he taught surfing lessons. During one of his lessons, a gorgeous spitfire of a woman comes storming down the beach demanding that he move his class down the beach...only she didn't ask nicely. Conor considered her request, but only if she said "please".

Madlyn doesn't like giving up control. She's been doing everything on her own for so long, it's made it extremely hard for her trust anyone enough to "give up" that control. She does say please and even finds herself turning around to accept an invitation for dinner. Conor is so laid back, that Madlyn doesn't think he could ever be "the one" as she also has a son who's depending on her. She keeps this and the fact that she's still living with her ex a secret from Con. When he finds out, he's upset that she still doesn't trust him enough to handle the complicated situation.

I really enjoyed this novel, but I thought Con had to work too hard to earn her trust. I understand she's a single mom, but he went to extremes to prove himself and even that almost wasn't enough. I'm a single mom and I know you're extremely protective of whom you bring around your children. You don't want them getting attached to someone who may break your hearts, but Madlyn almost goes to extremes with Jax. Conor begged to be given a chance with Jax, but she was sooo reluctant. It just seemed Conor was bending over backwards for her to FINALLY make up her mind. I smiled at the playfulness displayed between Con and Jax, then between Con and Madlyn. I'm glad she finally came around! If not, I was going to take Con for myself!!!

This novel is the second in the series. While it doesn't have to be read in order, I'm glad I have. I can't wait to see what Virna has in store for book #3!

Sweet love story

This really is such a cute love story about real life and family drama, and love that may not make sense but ends up working none the less.

Con and his brothers have all arrived in America from Ireland after losing first their father and recently their mother. Seeking more information about their mother's family they all settle in California. Con is a middle child in the family and truly struggling to find his way in the world when his mother had been the compass that kept him going before.

Madlyn is a wedding planner with a stressfull schedule and an annoying ex that still lives with her. When she practically attacks Con on the beach insisting that he move his young surf class to another location so as not to ruin a brides photos a most unexpected relationship begins to develop and grow.

But Madlyn is keeping secrets from Con that could destroy any chance of a future and although Con suspects what may be going on, try as he might to do everything right and give Maddie the time and space she needs, it doesn't seem to be enough.

I love the sweet and juvenile yet responsible relationship Con develops with Jax. He is quickly finding that he can trust his own compass and that his easy going lifestyle may be just what this uptight, overworked bossy lady needs in her life as well as her son's.

My only reason for giving this book 4/5 stars is because through the entire book we are never told how Con is able to afford all he does. It messed with my head a little considering he is much younger and comes across as a bit flighty. But knowing Verna DePaul's books as some of the best I've read and loving the first in this series I can't wait to read the next one.

Free spirit meets stressed single mom

This is the second book in the Home to Green Valley series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the series in order. DePaul does not spend a lot time rehashing the plot of the previous book, but you will definitely get a better sense of all of the brothers and the circumstances that have led them to this point in their lives. This book is Conor's story. For years, Conor has been a free-spirit that just moves wherever with whoever while still maintaining close family ties. Obviously this was a sore point with Conor's father and Conor always felt he was a disappointment in his eyes. However, that all changes during a chance meeting on the beach. Maddie is Conor's complete opposite. In her, however, Conor sees everything he could be and everything he wants out of life. But Maddie isn't quite in the same spot in her life. She is struggling with a career, ex-husband, and most importantly her young son. Can these two opposites really come together? This was a great contemporary romance and I look forward to seeing what is in store for the next O'Neill brother!
