About the Author
Dennis Griffin retired in 1994 from a 20-year career in investigations and law enforcement in New York State. He currently has six published mystery thrillers, including the first two books of a Las Vegas-based trilogy.
Thomas R. Cole, PhD, is Professor and Graduate Program Director at the Institute for the Medical Humanities, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. He is a past Chair of the Humanities and Arts Committee of the Gerontological Society and serves on various editorial boards. Senior editor of "What Does It Mean to Grow Old? Reflections from the Humanities "(1986) and of "Handbook of the Humanities and Aging "(Springer Publishing Company, 1992), he is also author of "The Journey of Life: A Cultural History of Aging in America "(Cambridge, 1992). He is now completing "No Color is My Kind: The Life Story of Eldrewey Stearns, Texas Integration Leader "(University of Texas Press), and "The Oxford Book of Aging, "to be published in 1994.

Good book for learning the estimating process

This is actually an interesting book. I had to purchase it for one of my construction classes. Its cheaper on Amazon and more readily available. It gives an overview of cost estimating and the process you go through for hard bids. Most of the book seems to be geared more towards the hard bid process.

Good undergraduate Civil Engineering Estimation Textg

Good undergraduate book civil engineering estimation class. Used for a graduate course and felt it was not as challenging as it should have been for graduate level (I personally feel that graduate work should be very rigorous). The drawings in the back were too small (8 1/2 X 11) to be useful and should have been provided on a CD or on line so they could be printed full or quarter sized (tabloid, 11X17). I received the drawings, however some of the students and the instructor did not receive the drawings with the book.
